Weatherford provides a variety of handling tools to increase efficiency while eliminating dangerous rig-floor operations.
A significant contributor to improved safety and efficiency, the Stabberless® system is a remotely controlled pipe-alignment system. The Stabberless system eliminates the need for a human stabber, the most hazardous position on the rig, and increases running efficiency by 14 percent.
Designed to work with the Stabberless remotely controlled pipe-alignment system and the ISIS® integrated safety interlock system, Weatherford’s hydraulically operated, fully automated side-door (ASD) elevator quickly picks up large-OD casing on deepwater and jackup rigs, enabling safe and efficient makeup of connections.
Weatherford also developed the
SafeGuard™ Single Joint Elevator for drillpipe and tubing. Industry statistics point to several risks in conventional single-joint elevators, which can result in dropped-object and near-miss incidents. Leveraging our extensive tubular‑running experience, we designed the
SafeGuard™ single joint elevator to reduce these incidents and increase safety.
Always committed to developing new technologies to address operator challenges, Weatherford is in the final development stages of introducing
UniSlips™ technology. The
Unislip tool is a rotary-mounted multi-functional slip that can be used for casing, tubing or drill pipe operations. Unlike conventional slips that require frequent slip changes for each size of tubular run, the
UniSlips can handle any tubular within its size range without changing slips.
