Cementing Additives
Oil well cementing is the process of mixing a slurry of cement and water and pumping it through steel casing to critical points in the annulus or in the open hole below the casing string. Conductor or surface casing, intermediate string casing, production string casing or production liner, squeeze, and plugging are the basic types of cement jobs. The success of each job lies in the design of the cement slurry and a thorough understanding of the dynamic forces at work as cement is pumped.
