Cement Evaluation
Cement bond logging plays a vital role in the successful evaluation of hydraulic isolation of productive and nonproductive zones. Weatherford's innovative Sector Bond® tool leads the way in cement bond logging.
This service is provided by two ranges of complementary equipment: standard and Compact™ tools. Standard tools are based on OD tools greater than 3 3/8-in., with upper limits of 20,000 PSI (137.9 MPa) and 350°F (177°C). Compact equipment is based on the latest technology in 2 1/4-in. sondes, providing unrivaled access and unique methods of conveyance, including memory operations
Standard Tools
The Sector Bond tool is a cost-effective, versatile tool that works in a wide variety of cement evaluation applications. The tool measures cement bond integrity, using eight angular sectors circumferentially around the casing. Field tests have detected cement voids as small as 6°.
The slim Sector Bond tool has the same reliability and responsiveness as the larger version, but the smaller size and advanced construction permits operation in deeper, hotter wells with smaller casing sizes. Field performance has been proven up to 420°F (215°C).
COMPACT™ Tools
Compact cement bond log (CBL) interpretations use relationships between signal strength and the percentage of casing circumference that is bonded. For fully bonded casing, the cement's compressive strength is deduced from amplitude or attenuation logs. Associated-travel-time logs provide additional quality control.
