WhipBack® Conventional Systems
The Whipback whipstock is a rigid, retrievable, mechanically set whipstock for use in cased wells. It is ideally suited for drilling single or multiple laterals from a single datum point. The most distinguishing advantage of the Whipback system is that, in a deviated hole, it can be set traditionally to mill up and to the right or it can be set on the low side so that it will mill downward. The top of the concave locks against the casing bore, regardless of orientation.
The Whipback whipstock has also been designed with bypass areas to allow sidetracking of one lateral while producing from another. The bypass area of the whipstock has been increased by circulation slots in the OD and ports through the ID.
