Weatherford’s FlowMax Sand Jet Perforator enables clients working in conventional fields and unconventional plays to gain more access to their reservoir without causing damage to the formation.

 

Today’s shale play completions require multi-stage fracturing campaigns to help overcome poor vertical permeability in horizontal wells. This system contains a flow actuated valve that allows multiple functions to be performed downhole on a single trip, resulting in reduced NPT for clients scheduling multi-stage fracturing treatments.

 

The perforator can be run in tandem with a motor and mill to provide initial toe cleanout and perforation services.  In addition, the perforator can be used to hydraulically set a composite bridge plug and then perforate a zone. The system uses high pressure abrasive laden fluids to perforate the casing, cement, and extend a cavity into the reservoir. By providing perforations with no skin effect or formation damage, breakdown pressures for fracture initiation are reduced leading to more effective stimulation treatments.
