Equalizing Dummy Valves
Weatherford McMurry-Macco™ Equalizing Dummy Valves are retrievable, isolation tools with integral top latches installed in side pocket mandrels to prevent communication between the casing and tubing. They are also designed to equalize the casing and tubing pressure by retrieving the equalizing prong. These valves have two sets of packing which straddle and packoff the casing ports in the side pocket mandrel.
To equalize casing-tubing pressure, a wireline trip to pull the equalizing prong is necessary. Fluid can be circulated, if so desired, prior to pulling the valve. A second wireline trip is necessary to pull the valve.
Valves are available in both 1-in. and 1.5-in models.
