WellTracer™ Technology
Gas-Lift Surveillance Tool
WellTracer technology gives you a quick and reliable determination of your gas-lift injection point as well as unwanted entry points. Best of all, we won’t require your operation to be shut down or the expense of running wireline tools. View our animation by clicking on this link.
We inject a small amount of CO2 into the gas supply flowing down the casing. As this concentration of CO2 returns through the wellhead tree, flowline or well test separator, our state-of-the-art sensor detects its presence.
WellTracer technology uses this detection to identify the various lift points, the depth of the operating valve(s), and even injection-gas leaks into the production tubing for a snapshot of your well’s performance. Trace return times are one to seven hours.
With its low cost, you can make this tool a permanent connection at a well-test separators, and well testing can be set to automatic or semi-automatic.
Weatherford, as a licensed distributor of the WellTracer technology, can provide analysis, optimization and integrity testing on an on-call basis. The technology can be used in daily operations and can be permanently installed for automated monitoring. WellTracer results have also been used to justify a well’s design and operation after a workover.
WellTracer Advantages:
