This integrated hybrid system combines the volumetric efficiency and heavy crude oil handling capabilities of Progressing Cavity (PC) Pumps with the fluid head reduction ability of gas lift. Typically, lift gas is injected above the PC Pump causing the fluid head to be reduced significantly, thus increasing the performance of the PCP. In some cases the liquid head can be reduced by up to 40%.
