T-Pad Plungers

Weatherford T-Pad Plungers are engineered and designed for maximum sealing integrity and performance. These plungers have proven successful in field studies by lasting longer and being more efficient than other style plungers in similar applications. Studies also have shown an increase in production on wells producing condensate, water or oil.

Manufactured with 4140 alloy steel and heat treated for optimum durability, these plungers incorporate four T-Pad sections that are equally balanced by two, not one, springs. This unique design enables the plunger to evenly expand and contract to the irregularities of the tubing, thus decreasing wear and providing a 360-degree seal.

T-Pad Plungers are available in both single and dual pad designs, and manufactured with a standard API fishing neck. Each plunger can be easily redressed in the field.

A By-Pass Valve is also available from Weatherford in the T-Pad design. This feature allows fluid to flow through the plunger during the fall time and is designed to decrease fall time yet maintain the sealing integrity of the Weatherford T Pad.

Key Features & Benefits

  • 360-degree seal
  • Four pad design with balanced spring load
  • 4140 alloy steel material
  • Maximum sealing integrity
  • 25-40% longer wear
  • Available for H2S service

Applications

  • Marginal wells
  • Clean tubing
  • Wells that produce water, condensate or oil

Weatherford T-Pad Plungers are designed with four 2-spring equally-balanced pads that provide a 360-degree seal. Designed for maximum sealing integrity it has been field tested to last 25-40% longer than similar designs on the market today.
