Ampscot® Pumping Units

Practical experience, exceptional results—Weatherford’s Ampscot pumping units are recognized worldwide for their dependability, durability and extended service life. These qualities, plus very high-mechanical efficiency, low-operating costs and high-resale value, have earned Ampscot units an excellent reputation.

  • Solid-type herringbone reducer is designed for long life and easy maintenance in accordance with API Specification 11E.
  • Class I working geometry is designed to operate in either direction to help equalize gear wear and extend reducer life.
  • Three-legged Samson post, with the rear leg mounted high in the pedestal base, adds stability to the upper structure while equalizing surface loads.
  • Rack-and-pinion design provides easy counterweight adjustment.
  • Crank arms have split low-speed section and are retained on the low-speed shaft with pinch bolts to reduce risk of breakage. The crank arms can be removed in the field without the use of hydraulic press or special tools.
  • Quick-release retainer pin facilitates removal of horsehead for well servicing.
  • Several features enhance the safety of this pump: safety line with stops running the length of walking beam, lifting hooks, crank guards, belt guards, caged ladders, work platforms, beam extensions and ground-level lubrication.
