Normalized High-Strength Rods

T66/XD SUCKER RODS

Designed for high-strength performance, the T66/XD rod provides an intermediate step between the Grade D and ultra-high-strength EL rod. These rods are manufactured with 4138M chrome-moly steel, making them capable of handling extreme stress. The special alloy steel provides more resistance to sulfide stress cracking than AISI 4337 nickel-chrome-moly steel used in older generation high-strength sucker rods.

T66/XD sucker rods are available in 5/8”, 3/4”, 7/8”, 1” and 1-1/8” diameters. All sizes are available in 25-foot and 30-foot lengths.

Application

Deep, highly loaded wells in mildly corrosive environments provided satisfactory corrosion inhibiting practices are followed.

Maximum Stress Allowable

Sa = (T/2.8 + 0.375 Smin) SF

Specifications

  • Special chrome-moly alloy steel
  • Normalized and tempered
  • Pin ends machined with API rolled threads.
