Personal Accounts from Veterans at Weatherford

"My career with Weatherford began as a three-month temporary contractor. Through eight years, I have been given the opportunity to grow from a marketing writer and editor to a management position. The leadership skills, discipline and training I received in the Marine Corps have been instrumental in my professional development. I thoroughly enjoy my role with Weatherford, and rising to the challenges we face as a company."

-Kevin Toburen, Corporate Exhibitions and Events (Former U.S. Marine Corps)

"While not every military specialty translates directly to a career in the oilfield, every veteran has skills that apply to the oil and gas industry. I believe that the soft skills instilled in me by the Marine Corps are invaluable to my career. Since starting with Weatherford nearly eight years ago, I have been given the opportunity to grow and advance within my role in human resources. I look forward to not only continuing my career here, but also helping other veterans create their own paths in the industry."

-Lisa Mora, Human Resources Manager (Former U.S. Marine Corps)

"We who have served have innate skills that we often take for granted within ourselves, yet these skills are invaluable to the oil and gas industry. I sought out Weatherford in 2013. Already familiar with the industry in general, I knew of the entrepreneurial spirit of those that worked here, and I wanted to be part of that. I’ve chosen to stay for the opportunities that are part of the culture, and because the company appreciates military values that include working toward a common goal, dedication, and attention to detail."

-Chris Evans, Corporate Marketing (Former U.S. Air Force)

We are a company where ideas that challenge convention are not only celebrated, but brought to reality. If you have the skillset and the desire to impact change, there is a place for you on our forward thinking team.

We are proud to have presented a donation of $438,000 to Camp Hope, Houston, at the annual Weatherford Walks community outreach event held in Houston, Texas in November 2015. Camp Hope is a non-profit organization that provides peer counseling, free interim housing, and other services for veterans with combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Houston is home to the second largest veteran population in the United States. Demonstrating our support and appreciation of the veteran community, more than 1,200 participants registered to walk a two-mile race track.
