Tool Description

The Revolution slide reduction tool (SRT) uses targeted bit-speed technology to offer an economic alternative to rotary-steerable systems (RSS). The tool provides rotary well-trajectory control in a variety of drilling conditions. It also provides three-dimensional directional control while maintaining drillstring rotation, which effectively reduces drilling time and mitigates lost-in-hole risks in problematic drilling environments.

The Revolution SRT uses a positive-displacement mud motor in conjunction with a proprietary synchronized-motor rpm controller and directional guidance system. The tool is compatible with the Weatherford hostile-environment-logging (HEL™) measurement-while-drilling (MWD) system and the
high-temperature azimuthal gamma ray (HAGR™) sensor, which provides real-time measurements.
