  • To ensure minimal service time, each Corig configuration has a built-in continuous rod gripper that trips rod at an optimal rate.
    – The Corig V50, S50, and V75 units trip rod at a rate of 100 ft/min (30 m/min).
    – The Corig E50 unit trips rod at a rate of 90 ft/min (27 m/min).

Tool Description

The Weatherford Corig unit is a custom-built integrated derrick featuring a hydraulically operated continuous rod gripper. The unit is designed for safe, cost-efficient servicing of COROD continuous rod and conventional sucker rods. The Weatherford Corig unit is available in four configurations to meet well-servicing needs, including deep wells to shallow wells in a variety of wellhead configurations for oil, gas, and coalbed methane (coalseam gas) wells.

The unit is designed for fast and efficient rig-in and rig-out times and minimal need for human intervention, which reduces the potential for errors and injuries. With fully integrated onboard systems and world-class safety features, consisting of a BOP, an emergency clamp system, and a full array of safety equipment, the Corig unit supports daytime and nighttime operation.

The Corig E50 unit complies with highly restrictive weight and dimension regulations in various European and Australian regions, with compliances set forth by Conformité Européene (CE), Atmosphères Explosibles (ATEX), and with American Petroleum Institute (API) standards. The E50 unit can transport a Weatherford portable forge welder (PFW) to wellsites for on-site welding of COROD continuous rod strings.
