Bernard J. Duroc-Danner is chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Weatherford International Ltd (NYSE: WFT), one of the largest global providers of innovative mechanical solutions, technology and services for the drilling and production sectors of the oil and gas industry. Weatherford operates in over 100 countries and employs more than 40,000 people worldwide.
Dr. Duroc-Danner was directly responsible for the 1987 start up of EVI, Inc. in the oilfield service and equipment industry and has directed the growth of EVI and later Weatherford since then to date. EVI’s revenues the first year were less than $20 million. In 1998, EVI, Inc. acquired Weatherford Enterra and adopted the new name of Weatherford International, Inc. Today, Weatherford International’s revenue base has grown to over $7 billion with a market capitalization of about $20 billion. Along the way, in 2000, Weatherford dividended Grant Prideco to its shareholders, and Grant now trades separately on the New York Stock Exchange. Growth was from inception both organic and acquisitive with industrial fit as its guiding principle.
Dr. Duroc-Danner is a director of Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. (a marine contractor and operator of offshore oil and gas properties and production facilities). Dr. Duroc-Danner is also a member of the National Petroleum Council and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Dr. Duroc-Danner’s family has been in the oil business for two generations. Before forming EVI, Inc., Dr. Duroc-Danner held positions at Arthur D. Little Inc. and Mobil Oil Inc. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Wharton (University of Pennsylvania). Dr. Duroc-Danner is married with five children.
Nicholas F. Brady is Chairman of Darby Overseas Investments, Ltd., an investment firm. Mr. Brady was the 68th Secretary of the United States Department of Treasury. Mr. Brady also served in the United States Senate and is a former Chairman of Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. Mr. Brady is a director of Amerada Hess Corporation and C2, Inc., Director/Trustee of the Templeton funds and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Inc.
David J. Butters is a Managing Director of Lehman Brothers Inc., an investment banking company, where he has been employed for more than the past five years. Mr. Butters is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of GulfMark Offshore, Inc. (a provider of marine support and transportation services to companies involved in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas), a director of ACOL Tankers Ltd. (an oil tanker company) and a director of Grant Prideco, Inc. (a provider of drill pipe and other stem products). Mr. Butters acts as the “Presiding Director” of Weatherford’s Board and, as such, he chairs all non-executive director meetings.
William E. Macaulay is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First Reserve Corporation, a Connecticut-based private equity investment firm, and has been the Chief Executive Officer of the firm since 1983. Mr. Macaulay served as a director of Weatherford Enterra from October 1995 to May 1998. He is Chairman of the Board of Dresser, Inc. (a provider of highly engineered equipment and services primarily for the energy industry), and a director of National Oilwell, Inc. (a leading international provider of drilling systems and associated services to the oil and gas exploration and production industry), and Pride International, Inc. (a contract drilling and related services company).
Robert B. Millard is a Managing Director of Lehman Brothers Inc., where he has been employed for more than the past five years. Mr. Millard is also a director of GulfMark Offshore, Inc. and L-3 Communications Corporation (a manufacturer of electronic communications equipment principally for the defense industry).
Robert K. Moses, Jr. has been a private investor, principally in the oil and gas exploration and oilfield services business in Houston, Texas, for more than the past five years. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Weatherford Enterra from May 1989 to December 1992 and as a director of Weatherford Enterra from December 1992 to May 1998. Mr. Moses is also a director of Grant Prideco.
Robert A. Rayne is Chief Executive Director of LMS Capital (property investment and development with major investments in leisure enterprises), a United Kingdom-listed public limited company.
