Memory Logging

The Compact™ philosophy is to provide the highest quality of well data, using tools engineered to be smaller in diameter, lighter, shorter, less power hungry and more reliable than any other technology in the market. Compact memory logging (CML) replaces wireline pipe-conveyed logging (PCL) in highly deviated wells and gives wireline quality data in wells where real-time formation evaluation data is not required.

CML is a significant recent development in the open-hole logging market. CML tools are conveyed on or in drillpipe, by slickline or on wireless coiled tubing. Tool strings are powered by battery pack, and data is stored in non-volatile downhole memory. Compact logging is about speed and efficiency, going one step further by providing new conveyance possibilities that save hours or even days of rig time. CML is the most cost-effective logging solution available for 90 percent of today’s wells.

The proven abilities and Compact technology and CML’s new conveyance methods reduce risk of tool failure and damage to the tool string. The Compact well shuttle (CWS) exposes the tools to wellbore conditions for a minimum amount of time, so is inherently lower risk than wireline PCL and LWD.
