Extended-Reach Logging and Intervention System

Make the most of your extended-reach wellbore with steel rod service capabilities that ensure performance.
Greater reach and a full range of service equipment make Weatherford’s solid steel rod deployment system the ideal solution for logging—and a host of other well intervention and mechanical services.
Reach Further. Achieve More. More than 16,000 ft (5,000 m) of reach and 35,000 lb (155.6 kN) of downward pushing force mean Weatherford’s extended-reach logging and intervention system (ERS) can put your tools where you want them—all the way to TD.
Versatility by design. Weatherford ERS technology is a specifically designed and engineered system based on years of experience in similar applications. The system is quick and efficient and provides positive economical results in horizontal applications.
The tools you need. Any well intervention technology with a memory mode can be deployed by the ERS, including production logging, open-hole logging, calipers, cameras, plugs, packers and perforating tools. With this wide variety of extended-reach services, wells can often be analyzed and solutions applied with a single operation.
Steel rod advantages. The ERS technology deploys tools on a small-diameter solid steel rod, which enhances successful interventions in horizontal wells. The solid steel rod reduces risks associated with working on live wells because, unlike coiled tubing, there is no internal pressure.
A single wellsite solution. The self-contained ERS equipment package includes well-control equipment, nitrogen supply, and an adjustable scaffold system that allows us to build a working floor to meet the requirements of each well. For logging applications where data recovery requires slow, constant speeds, the system excels with extremely slow rates of just inches per minute.
Data Capture. An advanced data recovery system captures everything from BOP test data to line tension and wellbore pressure. The ERS data system lets you observe conditions during and after the application to help analyze horizontal wellbore conditions.
