Safety Valve Installations
Weatherford offers a system for installing insert safety valves in monobore applications using coiled tubing (CT), slick line, or electric line.
The insert subsurface safety valve (SSSV) system uses a large-bore PB packer and/or a FloMax™ packer and a PB safety valve set at any depth in the production tubing. Both packers and the PB safety valve can be run on an E-HST hydraulic setting tool on tubing, or can be set using the SlickPump™ setting tool or on electric line, using conventional wireline pressure-setting tools. The PB safety valve is set for a predetermined flow rate. If a flow rate greater than the set maximum rate is encountered, the safety valve will close.
This system is recommended for applications in which the packer system remains within the same basic ID in the production tubing or liner throughout the operation. The PB packer and FloMax packer system are ISO 14310 V-3-certified.
