Side Pocket Mandrels for Waterflood

Weatherford offers McMurry-Macco ^® Side Pocket Mandrels in several models and configurations designed to enhance and complement waterflood applications.

SM Side Pocket Mandrels

This series of side pocket mandrels are the basic McMurry-Macco straight-hole side pocket mandrels, and are constructed of premium materials, which are quenched and tempered after welding.

SFO Side Pocket Mandrels

In addition to the features of the SM Side Pocket Mandrel series, SFO Side Pocket Mandrels contain an orienting sleeve for proper alignment of side pocket flow-control devices with the pocket. This feature facilitates wireline operations, particularly in deviated wells. A tool discriminator guides the proper tools into the pocket and deflects larger tools to prevent damage to the flow control devices.

These mandrels, with their advanced forged pockets are designed for all welds to be full penetration with no shielded areas to act as wireline snags, corrosion traps, or to prevent proper coating.

WF Side Pocket Mandrels

The WF Side Pocket Mandrel is equipped with an exhaust tube mounted on the lower end of the pocket. This allows injection flow to exit into the casing annulus straight down beside the tubing. As an option, external reverse flow checks can be installed and equalizing dummy valves are also available for use with the WF McMurry-Macco Mandrel series. These mandrels have the same features as the SM and SFO Mandrels.
