Oil Flushing
Systems such as fuel lines, lube lines, oil transfer lines and hydraulic systems require extremely clean piping. This is supported by empirical evidence that equipment life cycles are seriously decayed when connected to contaminated components. Oil flushing is the industry norm for cleaning pipe, and Weatherford’s fleet of flushing rigs are suitable for piping diameters up to 10” and if required, can be adapted for larger pipe diameters. The units vary from 100 litres/min at 320 bar (26 gallon/min at 4,700 psi) to 2,400 litres/min at 14 bar (634 gallon/min at 205 psi) and filtration down to 3 micron.
Sampling of the system takes place at different locations to ensure that cleanliness is homogenous throughout the system. Particle counting shows that the piping system is at the degree of purity defined by ISO 4406 Class < 16/14/11 and NAS 1638 Class < 5 Standard.
In addition the flushing rigs are suitable for methanol and other control fluids used in umbilicals and chemical injection systems.
