Ultra High-Strength Rods
The EL® Sucker Rod Series are Weatherford’s premium line of coupled sucker rods, utilizing innovations to provide an ultra-high load rating and successful corrosion-resistant qualities. EL sucker rods are available in 5/8”, 3/4”, 7/8”, 1” and 1-1/8” diameters. All sizes are available in 25-foot and 30-foot lengths. The exclusive induction case hardening process makes the EL rod the ultimate fatigue-resistant sucker rod.
Ordinary sucker rods tend to fail from fatigue originating at the surface under tension. The EL has a thin compression layer at its surface, which remains under compression even under normal operating tensile loads. Since the compressive pre-stress protects the surface from tensile stresses, the chances of developing fatigue cracks are greatly reduced.
Additionally, stringent quality control procedures are taken to ensure reliable and long service life.
