Weatherford Recognized for Operational Excellence at 2017 Oil & Gas Middle East Awards

Abu Dhabi Manufacturing Facility Wins Strategy Award

ABU DHABI, September 13, 2017 – Weatherford International plc was recognized by Oil & Gas Middle East magazine with the 2017 Oil & Gas Middle East Award for Operational Excellence Strategy of the Year. The annual awards program recognizes outstanding achievements made within the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry in the Middle East.

This award specifically celebrates the innovative operational excellence program implemented at the Weatherford Abu Dhabi Manufacturing Facility. The company applied Lean SixSigma methodology to streamline processes across the facility, which serves customers throughout the Middle East, in the Eastern Hemisphere and beyond. The successful initiative reduced operational costs and enabled products and services to be deployed more quickly and efficiently without any loss in quality.
