Weatherford Appoints Two to New Positions

HOUSTON, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Weatherford International, Inc. (NYSE: WFT) today announced that Lisa W. Rodriguez has been appointed Vice President, Finance & Accounting and Burt M. Martin has been appointed Vice President, Law for Weatherford International. In addition, upon election by the Board Mr. Martin will become Corporate secretary as well. Both positions will report directly to Bernard J. Duroc-Danner, Weatherford's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Duroc-Danner noted, "At Weatherford we are very fortunate to have a strong talent bench. I am pleased to promote Lisa and Burt to enhanced roles carrying additional duties and responsibilities. These opportunities arose in the wake of the departure of Curtis Huff to Grant Prideco, Inc., where he will be President and Chief Executive Officer."

Ms. Rodriguez has a proven record in financial roles, both in industry and the accounting profession. She has worked for Weatherford and its predecessor company, EVI, Inc. since 1996 in roles of increasing responsibility. In 1999 Ms. Rodriguez became Corporate Controller and most recently served as Vice President, Accounting. Earlier she worked at Landmark Graphics and Ernst & Young. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has earned a M.S. in Accounting from the University of Houston.

Mr. Martin has extensive legal experience in industry as well as the legal profession. Burt has been with Weatherford since June 1998 serving most recently as Vice President, Legal and Assistant Secretary. Previously, Mr. Martin was an Associate Attorney at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. in Houston. He is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a B.B.A., M.B.A. and Law Degree.
