Houston, September 22, 1998

The Shareholders of EVI Weatherford, Inc. yesterday approved a name change for the company to Weatherford International, Inc. The company will continue to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange with a new stock symbol – “WFT”. The old symbol was EVI.

The name change is being implemented to leverage off a universally known brand name and logo following the recent merger of EVI and Weatherford Enterra. Chairman and CEO, Bernard J. Duroc-Danner stated, “The Weatherford name is synonymous with quality service throughout the industry. As Weatherford, our products and services will instantly have greater global commercial visibility. The name change will accelerate the expansion of the Company’s completion and production businesses through Weatherford’s 425 service infrastructures worldwide.”

EVI and Weatherford Enterra, two leading oilfield service companies, completed their merger on May 27, 1998. The new Weatherford provides a full range of drilling and completion products and services, a complete suite of artificial lift systems and a cost-effective array of well re-entry technologies.
