Lev Ring Joins as Director of Solid Expandable Technology
Pat York Joins as Sales and Marketing Vice President
HOUSTON, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE: WFT) announced two key appointments today that significantly round out its senior management team in the company's game-changing sector of solid expandable technologies.
Lev Ring joins Weatherford from Enventure, where he was Vice President, Technology and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to Enventure, Lev worked at Shell E&P Technology Co. as a Sr. Research Engineer, Project Leader and also as a Research Associate for the Rock Mechanics Institute at the University of Oklahoma. Lev has a Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics from the Institute for Problems in Mechanics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia, and a M.Sc in Applied Physics from the Institute of Physics and Technology, Department of Physics and Space Research, Moscow, Russia.
Pat York, formerly the commercialization/marketing vice president for Enventure Global Technology, has been named sales and marketing vice president for Weatherford's solid expandables business. Throughout his more than 30 years of oilfield experience, Pat has served in several management roles for Enventure, Halliburton and Dresser Atlas in operations, business development and marketing. He has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern State University, and also pursued his MBA there in economics and management.
According to Stuart Ferguson, President of Weatherford's Completion Systems division, "Both Lev and Pat will play major roles in further developing and growing Weatherford's solid expandables business. We are already the global leader in the commercialization and installation of Expandable Sand Screen (ESS(TM)) technologies, with more than 150 ESS installations, running over 102,000 ft (approximately 20 miles). With the addition of Lev and Pat, under the leadership of Paul Metcalfe, who is in charge of our solid expandables business, Weatherford expects to maintain its leadership position in the rapidly developing markets for expandable tubular applications."
