Aberdeen, January 9, 2003 - - Weatherford International Ltd. (NYSE: WFT) today announced that its Completions Systems Division (WCS) has been awarded a $4.2million contract by Dansk Olie and Naturgas (DONG), Denmark for the provision of sand control equipment and services.
The contract is for an initial period of four years, and WCS will supply premier sand screens, sand control equipment and services on two of the DONG operated platforms in the Nini and Cecilie fields in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
Jan Dreschler, WCS Sand Control Manager for Scandanavia, said, “The fields are new developments and the first well is scheduled to be installed in March 2003, with first sand control equipment deliveries taking place in February 2003. The development is planned with 5 wells in the Nini field and with 6 wells in the Cecilie field.”
