Automated MPD in SAGD Well Successfully Navigates Narrow-Pressure Window

After thorough up-front planning, Suncor and Weatherford conducted a successful MPD operation in a SAGD well. A total of 2,350 ft was safely drilled for the re-entry production section. Automated MPD enabled a constant BHP of 239 psi during the entire drilling operation. Caprock fracture pressure was not reached or exceeded at any time during drilling operations.
