Integrated Lower Completion With SwageSet Liner System and Maxflo® Screen Installation Uses Minimal Crew to Deliver OPEX Savings
Integrated Lower Completion With SwageSet Liner System and Maxflo® Screen
Objectives
Install 4 1/2-in. liner with a V0-rated, gas-tight liner-hanger system and robust sand-control screen to complete a high-volume gas well.
Safely conduct all installation procedures while incurring zero equipment failures or nonproductive time (NPT).
Our Approach
Weatherford completion specialists met with the customer to discuss plans for completing a gas well. After their review, the specialists recommended a 10,000-psi, V0-rated premium liner-hanger system to install the liner. They also advised installing Maxflo screens to provide optimal sand control.
The completion team conducted an operational review with full risk analysis and detailed contingency planning, then deployed to the wellsite.
The team installed a 4 1/2-in. S13Cr screen and liner hanger system using a SwageSet tieback polished bore receptacle (PBR), a SwageSet liner-top packer, and premium hydraulic-set static liner hanger (WPHS). In addition, the team installed Maxflo S13Cr premium metal mesh screens.
The liner and completion were tested as per plan, without incident.
Value to Customer
The SwageSet V0-rated liner system provided reliable, gas-tight integrity for the liner tieback, and the Maxflo screen delivered reliable sand control.
All operations were conducted safely, with zero equipment failures or NPT.
The installations required only one Weatherford completion engineer per shift, helping to minimize personnel on board for a savings of more than $40,000.
